Control a Bluetooth device over the internet

Hello,
I have a device that is controlled via Bluetooth through a dedicated application. So far, nothing exceptional.
However, I would like to control it from outside my home.
Is there a gateway, a third-party application that would convert Bluetooth to Wi-Fi, for example, to send the data over the internet via my router to my smartphone, where I could then retrieve it in my app?
In short, I want to control my device from several kilometers away and not just 10m.
I have researched gateways, but either I misunderstood or they only support Bluetooth home automation devices.
Thank you in advance for any responses.

Hello,
If the manufacturer of the device in question, by the way what is it used for, did not plan for remote administration, you're wasting your time thinking about replacing it.
And there you go ....
But misery, how annoying the line spacing is!!
Hello,
I think we should rather consider remotely operating a device on which the dedicated application would be installed.
Hello
This is your computer that you are describing to us.
The remote desktop feature, which even allows you to wake the computer from sleep to take control of it, indeed lets you do everything you would do on your PC, communicate via Bluetooth with your device, print a result at home, and even send you an alert by phone in Windows if your device is fully autonomous and controlled by the interface and prepared in advance.
But as soon as you need to press a button in addition to your mouse and keyboard, you have to create or use another device controlled by the PC or add a program alongside it. A smart plug, for example. There must be commands by phone call, for instance, by dialing a number; we add a box to the PC via USB; before home automation was commercialized as a product, we used the parallel port output.

Good evening,
What goes beyond 15 meters is called the INTERNET (ADSL or Fiber), and you have to cross the gateway of the service provider, which is no longer simple at all, if not impossible...

Hello, thank you for your responses.
Brupala: here is the function of the three Bluetooth devices (there are two similar ones in the batch) that I want to control remotely.
The BMS of a battery that I built, which is in my converted van, to check if it is charged and if it charges properly in the sun, and to see if there are any anomalies. A manufacturer’s app for the BMS connects to it via Bluetooth.
For the other two, they are diesel heaters of the Webasto type that are controlled via Bluetooth. The first one is in my van to turn on the heating if it gets too cold. The second one is in my workshop to turn it on before I arrive.
In both places (van and workshop), I have an internet router with a SIM card.
Hello
That's your PC you're describing. :uhhhh no, but it's true that I hadn't mentioned the type of device I wanted to connect.
Jeannet: Yes, exactly, it's about relaying Bluetooth information over the internet between the controlled device and the phone that has the app.
I don't understand your somewhat inappropriate remark about the design office. I'm not asking anyone to do the work for me. My question is simply to know if there is an app and/or hardware that allows this. For example, a device that could connect via Bluetooth to the appliances, with an RJ45 or WiFi output to connect to the local router.
It seems to me that one complexity of the project is that two devices are needed:
- as you mentioned, a box that would connect via Bluetooth to the devices, with an RJ 45 or Wi-Fi output to connect to the local router
- another device, hardware or software, that would be necessary on the phone that contains the application
The Bluetooth protocol between the application and the devices has nothing to do with the IP protocol used over Wi-Fi, Ethernet cable, mobile data, and over the Internet.
I think it is more realistic to install the application on a device (maybe a Raspberry Pi) close to the devices to be controlled, and to take remote control of that device. I don't know if it's feasible.
Hello, I'm sorry I couldn't respond earlier and I've tested several possibilities.
Thank you very much yg-be for your response.
Given the complexity, I have opted for a slightly different solution that works very well: I used an old phone that connects to the Bluetooth of the devices I want to control. It is connected via Wi-Fi to the internet router. And I control it remotely.
I downloaded an app that allows me to connect to it remotely, and it works very well. I've tried several apps, and the one that suits me best is "airmirror." Others are also decent but less suitable for this specific use, particularly regarding disconnection/reconnection.
The main downside is that if the network is weak, there can be latency, but it remains usable as long as you don't try to rush the operations.
You must, of course, keep the target phone plugged into a charger and powered on if you want to access it at any moment; just set the brightness to the minimum. The consumption is low. Anyway, with a dedicated box, it would also have needed power.
Thank you for your responses that helped me find my way a bit.
Of course, like many other remote support solutions: https://help.airdroid.com/hc/fr/articles/360047961514-Vue-d-ensemble-d-AirMirror
Yes, that's right, but I hadn't understood things that way; that was clarified during your second intervention. ;) Thank you again.
Hello, thank you for this discussion which will help me manage my van or rather my motorhome for BMS and others.
In order to properly understand the installation to be done and not to make a mistake, the smartphone that will stay in the van is indeed with AirDroid?
And the smartphone remotely is indeed with AirMirror?
( excerpt from the site https://help.airdroid.com:
- Install AirMirror on the controlling device.
- Install AirDroid Personal on the controlled device, which you need remote access to.)
Hello, I'm having obvious difficulties connecting the two devices:
I have an LG smartphone that serves as an emitter for my Bluetooth apps; I downloaded AirDroid and registered an account on it.
My everyday smartphone, which I want to use to control the LG, is a Xiaomi Note 8 Pro, and I've installed AirMirror on it.
I'm stuck on the LG for remote control; it asks for a "non-root" connection when connecting to a PC with a USB cable, but I only want to connect to the Xiaomi to control it.
I don't know what to do, plus I'm not a computer expert at my age!
Can you please help me?!! Thank you in advance!
