TV Blaupunkt won't turn on - Help me!

Good evening

I have a Blaupunkt TV model 49/148Z that has been working well for a while

Out of the blue, the TV starts acting up: it powers on, the screen lights up with the "Blaupunkt" logo, and then it turns off immediately after, after about 10-15 seconds

What’s strange is that by spamming (turning it on, waiting for it to turn off, then turning it back on) for 10-15 minutes, the TV turns on and works fine. Gradually, it stays on longer and longer before turning off until it no longer turns off after a while

I’ve tried several things:
- unplugging the TV for 15-20 minutes and plugging it back in
- plugging it into another outlet
- resetting the TV
- unplugging all peripherals (HDMI, USB…)

None of that resolved the issue. What could it be?

Thank you in advance :)

    Good evening,

What could it be due to?

A defective component inside, but it's hard to know which one from a distance via a forum.

Let's assume this television is no longer under warranty, so in this context, there are two possibilities: either have it repaired or invest in a new television.

    Good evening,

    thank you for your response!

Indeed, it is no longer under warranty.

I don't know much about TVs, but I'm quite handy; I found while searching that it could be a capacitor. Is there any "risk" in changing it before contacting a repair technician?

By opening it, there is a risk of one or more serious, even fatal, electric shocks.

The wisest course is to hand it over to a professional or invest.

I don’t know much about TVs

All the more reason not to open it…!
