HP Color Laser Printing Issue
Anonymous user -
Hello everyone!
I'm having a printing issue with my HP Color Laser MFP 178nw following a parts change on my part.
After a major paper jam, a colleague tried to remove the sheet that was stuck at the orange roller (Fuser) with a very sharp pair of pliers. As a result, the Fuser was slightly damaged everywhere and the prints had streaks (which makes sense!).
I ordered a new Fuser and just replaced it.
I made the change through the back cover by unplugging the fuser unit to completely remove it and change the roller.
Everything went (in my opinion=p) smoothly, I reconnected everything correctly.
The printer shows no error when I print, but the prints are not correct.
Only a very small part of my page prints, namely a 2-3CM strip on the side. This part is printed correctly, but the rest of the sheet is therefore white.
I disassembled the printer again to check that everything was in place. This time from the top, removing the entire scanner part and the top of the printer.
Everything seems OK to me BUT I see that there is excess toner remaining on one side of the printer (the same side that prints correctly on my sheet), inside at the Fuser / Transfer Kit level.
So I have the impression that all the toner is staying on one side and is no longer distributed correctly across the width of the sheet.
I don't know what that means, but there must be a logical explanation.
I hope you can help me, thank you in advance!

The problem could stem from several elements. First, make sure that the fuser is installed correctly and that nothing is blocking it, such as toner residue or other debris. Next, check that the transfer rollers are clean and functioning properly. It's possible that when changing the fuser, the transfer roller was misaligned or damaged. If the transfer roller is in good condition, it could be an issue with the toner supply. In that case, it would be necessary to replace the toner cartridge. If the problems persist after these checks, it might be helpful to consult a professional. Additionally, it's possible that the problem remains unresolved despite the part replacement, and a technician may need to be called in for a more thorough repair.
