Thunderbird, memory increase

Hello,
My mailbox no longer accepts new messages due to lack of space. How can I increase the memory allocated to Thunderbird?

Hello,
unfortunately I think we cannot increase the size but you can go to tools, account settings, Sync and disk space.
And modify a few settings.
For example, only sync the last messages from the past 30 days.
Warning: there is a risk of deleting messages; you have to sort them yourself—the box of your email provider will delete them there as well

Hello,
All of this is fine and good, but it forgets that Thunderbird is only the messenger; the problem may originate from the size of the local folders or from the storage limit allocated to the associated mail account(s).
In the first hypothesis, and to my memory, Thunderbird begins to unlock randomly once this size exceeds 2 GB (sic); we don’t even need to delete old emails, it is enough to do what we should systematically do anyway: depending on what you intend to do with it, delete attachments after archiving them elsewhere or not.
If it’s online storage space and Thunderbird is using POP3, deleting messages locally won’t change anything.
If it’s IMAP and an address (for example Outlook) is part of a storage space that can contain other things, the IMAP synchronization by deleting old or unnecessary emails may also not work: you need to make space in the other storage areas (Drive...).

thank you, indeed my archives have disappeared, so Thunderbird is freeing up space but not allocating more memory.
