        I don't have much interest in this topic either, but having been a teacher in a long-ago past, I had to endure this ssm language in many "copisses" as we used to say back then, and I must say I've almost forgotten all about that nonsense jargon.

        Text messages were still quite handy before the advent of instant messaging through the Internet, but you could only type a very limited number of characters.

        That + the whole language immersion method + the fact that parents started to delegate their educational role to teachers + more... It hasn’t really favored mastery of the French language.

        As for CCM and its evolution, I won’t say anything here; I’d rather head over to the Café noir:

        I am not very good at using emojis, which are supposed to add a humorous touch to our interventions, necessary in these troubled times, even if it means being a bit caustic.

      What is interesting about this "language" that's cheap (the Lidl of youth?), is that often speakers feel compelled to use it (similarly to how English words are often used randomly, like "I spammed my keyboard") because they think it sounds good but do not understand the "vocabulary" themselves when expressing it (for example, we occasionally see contributions like "my PC crashed lol", which is indeed very funny, a bit like Camus in "The Stranger", "Today, mother died", we don't know if we're detaching from it or if we're rejoicing in it) or they don't understand each other.
