No sound feedback on Android karaoke app

I have a Google Pixel 7a smartphone, so Android.

I have been using SMULE for a long time. Originally with a Pixel 5 and my headphones everything worked perfectly. Then I installed a singing microphone, an audio interface, etc. Everything is still going very well.

Currently, I am traveling, and to travel light, I switched back to the headphone mode. But there's a problem with SMULE: I don't have any sound feedback when I sing. Very annoying!

I tested with other karaoke apps:

KARAFUN = same, no sound feedback (yet the app is great!)

YOKEE => sound feedback is perfect! (but the app is expensive and not great in my opinion)

I conclude that the issue does not come from my headphones. Besides, I can make calls with them and hear myself perfectly well.

I tried with my partner's Samsung phone: same results.

What do you think? A bug with the apps? Is there a way to work around it?
