My WiFi key doesn't recognize my connection.

To receive internet on a desktop computer, I installed a TP-Link WiFi dongle on it. The dongle does not detect the signal, unlike my smartphone, tablet, and laptop.

When I share the signal from my smartphone, the dongle detects this signal, which allowed me to update the dongle's driver, but no changes occurred. My service provider blames my dongle, especially since the Android devices and even my laptop running Windows 10 Pro (just like the desktop) can see the connection. Can you help me?

Hello,

The location of the desktop computer may not be conducive to the transmission of Wi-Fi signals.

It might be worth testing this USB adapter on the laptop.

Then the box could be on 2.4 GHz and the USB adapter on 5 GHz, or the other way around, not on the same frequency.

Check the specifications of the box and the adapter.

Hello,

here, we don't say wifi key, but wifi/usb adapter in order not to confuse it with the WPA key, which is the password for the wifi network.

What model is this adapter exactly?

On your box, are the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks differentiated with different SSID names, to see if one of the two radio bands would work better than the other?

And there you go....

But misery, those line breaks are so annoying!!

Thank you for your reply. On my box, the networks are clearly differentiated with different SSID names, but the wifi/USB adapter does not see any of these networks.

OK,

we will need to find another driver, I think, what is the exact model of the adapter?

have you tested it on the laptop?

can you try to bring the laptop closer to the box in case the signal propagation is poor and the distance is too great.
