Hello, one day when I turned on my computer with a low battery, I noticed an error: 601 regarding the status of my battery. I continued my session by pressing enter, charged my laptop and now every time I turn on my HP EliteBook 840 G6, running Windows 10 (64-bit, 22H2), I get this error message.

  • I tried uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery driver so that it could reinstall itself (which was done) but nothing changed.
  • I also updated my BIOS by pressing ESC followed by F10 at startup and following the steps as recommended by HP's website.

When performing the HP battery check: 2x via the assistant AND 2x via ESC + F2 for battery diagnostics, the result is still very low battery. Having seen this error in other forums for cases with batteries lasting 20 to 40 minutes, mine still has a duration of more than 4 hours. Therefore, I would like to no longer receive this error message that makes a dreadful beep at every startup or know if 4 hours of charge without a cable is really considered "very low".

Hello, Thank you for your response.

As I mentioned in my message, the BIOS update and battery test have already been performed, and I also included the result of that test. What I would like to know is how to stop this error message in my case, if that is possible. Considering that my battery is far from being in bad condition (in my opinion).
