Hello,

I am trying to transfer my photos that are on Google from my Samsung A40 to a USB key. This key appears in the file manager but it does not appear to perform the transfer. Why? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Why not do it old-school like on a PC? With the file explorer, re-download the content from Google Drive on the mobile if available.

Hello,

To transfer the photos, I recommend using Google Takeout.

See the explanations here: https://www.commentcamarche.net/image-son/photo/1253-google-photos-telecharger-toutes-les-photos-et-videos/

You will obtain on your smartphone .zip files that contain the photos.
This is a copy. The photos are not deleted from Google Photos.
So if your goal is to free up space in the cloud, you will need to delete them afterward.
I advise you not to delete anything until you are sure that the photos are properly saved and safe from any mishap.

Then you can copy the zip files onto a USB drive formatted in FAT32 that you will connect to the smartphone.
You can also unzip the archives directly on the USB drive.

What is well conceived can be expressed clearly,
And the words to say it arrive easily.

I have given you a method that is effective if you have a lot of photos to transfer home.

If there are only a few, you can skip Google Takeout and download directly on the smartphone.
You will then transfer them to the USB stick.

But, I repeat, do not delete anything before you are sure that the photos are on the USB key (or on the smartphone) and that you can view them.
