Hello,

Not long ago, the motherboard of my computer burned out, so I decided to buy all the components except for the power supply, the hard drives, and the graphics card. Here is the configuration:

Ryzen 5 3600

Msi a520m-a pro bought second-hand from Cdiscount

2x8 GB clocked at 3200 MHz

Gtx 770

When I turn on the PC, the CPU cooler starts spinning fast, then it slows down.

The PC finally displays an image, the peripherals are recognized, but a message like this appears: "press F1 to run setup," and when I press F1, this message is displayed: "Warning!!! Please insert USB key press any key to check." If you have any ideas that could help me, I'm all ears.

Hello.

The BIOS of the second-hand motherboard you bought is locked; to unlock it, you need to connect a USB key.

The USB key lock on the BIOS allows you to configure a USB drive that you plug into the PC to enable it to boot; this lock must have been set by the previous owner of this motherboard, and this option should have been disabled in the BIOS before putting this motherboard up for sale.

So, check with the customer service of CDiscount.

Hello,

MSI didn't do well on this one.

They themselves talk about a return to the manufacturer in this case on their forums.

No other solution.

Hello.

It's actually the person who put this used motherboard up for sale who is responsible; they should have checked that this protection was disabled.
