High ping in gaming: what to do?

Hello, I would like some help regarding my fiber connection. The problem I'm encountering is with high ping; my fiber respects the 1Gb per second, but the ping issues are horrible. For the past two weeks, I've been unable to play my video games due to ping spikes of 60 every 2 seconds. Through the client area, we thought the issue was with the fiber box, so we changed it, but I received it yesterday and installed it, and the problem persists. What should I do, please?

Hello,
How is your computer connected? Via Ethernet, wifi, powerline, ...?
Do a quick connection test at https://www.speedtest.net/en
Make sure that the servers you connect to for gaming are in the same region as you (choose EU and not America, for example).
Best regards.

Hello,
ping in the game is related to the game or the load on the PC, not the connection.
To measure true ping on the connection, use the ping command:
ping 9.9.9.9
for example to test the ping on the server at address 9.9.9.9 (dns quad9)
>ping 9.9.9.9 Sending a 'Ping' request to 9.9.9.9 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 9.9.9.9: bytes=32 time=11 ms TTL=58 Reply from 9.9.9.9: bytes=32 time=11 ms TTL=58 Reply from 9.9.9.9: bytes=32 time=11 ms TTL=58 Reply from 9.9.9.9: bytes=32 time=7 ms TTL=58 Ping statistics for 9.9.9.9: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (loss 0%), Approximate round trip times in milliseconds: Minimum = 7ms, Maximum = 11ms, Average = 10msPing measurements in games only test the load on game servers and the PC.
To measure it more accurately and continuously, you can use the small WinMTR software
