Orange no longer installs copper wires... The landline without a BOX from the past is now over... Really over.

However, we continue to make landline calls via fiber optics and behind the BOX... usually with Internet...

For those building new homes without internet, it is still possible to have a landline phone with a landline number... It works with fiber, and a BOX is installed solely for the landline... To cater to this type of clientele and need...

Theoretically yes, as long as the copper installations have not yet been completely replaced by fiber, the old system should still apply in some places.

I believe providers are no longer required to place new clients on a fully copper network.

There remains a gap between the obligations of landlords, who should not remove T sockets from homes even if they are not currently used because a fiber contract is active; in case of tenant replacement, they could not oppose their request for a phone subscription without internet. So, do not remove the T sockets. But the landlord does not create the phone contracts in place of the providers.

As you know, the copper network has become obsolete and is set to disappear. If you just want a landline without internet, there are two possibilities:

1) You still have a copper line with a T-shaped wall socket. You can continue using it until the copper is replaced by fiber.

2) You move into a place where fiber is installed.
You will not be provided with an additional copper line alongside the fiber.

You will need to turn to Orange, which is currently the only operator offering a simple telephone subscription with fiber. They will supply you with a box dedicated solely to telephony.

Then it's a matter of money.
Given the price of Orange's landline subscription, you will find internet subscriptions with included telephony that are cheaper.

You can also opt for an inexpensive mobile phone subscription (no need for a smartphone). The downside (?) is that there is only one handset, whereas you can have several with a landline.
