Internet connection is working BUT browsing is impossible
Solvedp4uL0 -
Hello,
I can't find the info anywhere so I'm trying a new post here...
THE PROBLEM
For the past few days I can no longer browse the internet with my PC (on Windows 10), yet:
• my two internet networks are working very well (1 router and 1 4G dongle that I connect to without any issues on other devices)
• the WiFi connection is good (4/4 bars and it shows "Internet Access")
• using the torrent client still works (the torrents are downloading)
• the bug does not specifically come from Firefox (I tried with Edge, same issue)
• there is no visible trigger event that could explain such a sudden bug (no changes to settings or recent updates).
LEADS?
• My VPN (CyberGhost, which I honestly find not great) refuses to open at all now...
• I ran a diagnostic and a "network troubleshooting" on Windows, which found the following problem: “Windows cannot communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server).”

I'm just unable to use the VPN anymore; the interface won't open… I'm stuck :-/
Disable the VPN and see if it works....
The problem was indeed with the VPN. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it, it's working again :)
Thanks for the advice!
(By the way, I strongly advise against CyberGhost; this VPN is not user-friendly at all and constantly creates bugs. In comparison, I much preferred using NordVPN.)
