Instagram takes up too much space

Hello,
I've noticed for a few days that the storage on my phone is still quite full even though I've deleted several gigabytes of data. The Instagram app had 28GB of data, I deleted that data (to be honest, I don't even know what it is since my account hasn't changed a bit) but two days later it's back up to 30GB. What is this data? Is it normal for this app to be so heavy? My phone is almost unusable and I need to keep Instagram as it is one of my work tools...

Whoa, you have way too much data there, 30GB is huge.
Try clearing the cache.
Step 1. Launch the Settings app, then select Apps.
Step 2. Select or search for the app you want to clear.
Step 3. Tap on Storage. Here, you can see the Gmail app, for example.
Step 4. Tap on Clear data.
Step 5. Tap on the OK button. This will completely delete the app's files, settings, accounts, and databases.

If I delete the data, will it also delete my Instagram accounts and my saved content?

Well, listen, not finding an answer, I just clicked on the famous data to erase and I went from 28 GB to 7.20 GB.
I restarted my phone and its memory is thrilled! :)
I had to log back into my account, but I didn't lose anything.
No posts, reels, saved items, conversations... I didn't have any drafts waiting, so no response on that side.
