Pink screen

Hello,
I have a pink screen problem. Sometimes the screen goes back to normal, but it doesn't last long. This issue started shortly after my upgrade to Windows 10, so I thought it was related to that at first. But nothing works in terms of driver updates or other repair programs.
Do you think my graphics card is dead?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
The few similar cases I've seen were cable problems; make sure the current one is properly connected, then ideally you should try testing another cable or even another screen if possible, which would help narrow down the causes.

Hello! Thank you for your help.
So I initially tried connecting another screen. It didn't change anything, so that's not it.
Right now, I'm testing after cleaning some of the dust in my computer (particularly on the graphics card) and so far it seems better, although there are still some pink flickers at times and others where the pink stays longer.
Do you think it could simply be dirt on the graphics card?
Thanks again and have a good rest of your day!
Mmm it's not a problem I've encountered with a graphics card that would overheat or be defective; usually, we have frozen screens or artifact display, but why not? And if that's indeed the case, you could consider changing the thermal paste of the GPU, which involves dismantling the heatsink that allows for cooling, if you feel up to it.
The steps:
- Unscrewing the heatsink, being cautious when disconnecting the fan power supply
- Using cotton swabs and ideally IPA alcohol, remove the old thermal paste.
- Apply the new one (Arctic Mx-4 for example, which is very good), just a small amount, slightly smaller than the size of a green pea.
- Reattach the heatsink, which will spread the blob of thermal paste
Thanks for your response, I won't risk those manipulations ^^ I'll just settle for cleaning the dust well. I already blew a bit before and it seems to be holding better although I still have a few pink areas from time to time.
According to what I've read on other forums, dust can sometimes be responsible for overheating of the graphics card, which causes these pink screens.
Thanks again and feel free to share any other tips or repair possibilities if they come to mind ;)
On the other hand, I have a new problem now: I opened my PC and took out the graphics card to clean off the dust (it really needed it). After that, I reconnected everything, but when I turn on my PC, it makes a lot of noise and doesn't start (the screen stays blank).
What could I have done wrong when reconnecting it?
Thank you in advance
Try disassembling everything, including the RAM, and then reassemble it all.
Of course, the machine must be turned off and unplugged, and discharge any residual electricity by pressing the power button. Avoid blowing for dust removal; it's better to use a dry brush or a can of compressed air to prevent possible splatter.
Hello
The times when my screen turned pink were the slow death of my panel (laptop screen), luckily the panel can be replaced, I found one used for only €25.
Now, if it's not a laptop, you just need to change the screen, or possibly install the graphics card in another nearby computer if the screen turns pink…
Or maybe your partner is trying to tell you that you’re going to have a daughter?!
There are free diagnostic software programs that allow you to test the hardware and identify a problem.
I don’t know if HWiNFO serves that purpose, but it identifies the graphics card, RAM, and other components.
Regards.
