Unable to print .jpg files from Explorer

Hello,

I’m posting about a printing issue from the file explorer. I've searched several forums and tried various suggestions, but without success, as I couldn't find exactly the same problem.

Here’s mine: on two new laptops running Windows 10, when I start printing a .jpg image from the "Photos" app, the printing works perfectly.

However, if I go through the file explorer, selecting two photos for example, and then choose to print 2 images per page, the printing doesn't start. Yet the printer icon appears in the system tray but stays at "0 documents pending."

With two older PCs, also running Windows 10, the same process works fine. What could be causing this issue?

I have already updated the printer driver, set this printer as default, checked the system integrity as suggested on another forum, and done other adjustments.

    Hi

    The Win Explorer sometimes makes "presentations" virtual, the file is not actually present in one location, this happens especially with anything in the cloud.

    And to avoid "problems especially from intruders and infections," access to the real file at the time of the "print" function is not always permitted through the explorer. You see it but you don't touch it.

    New processors allow for more protections. We can simplify it like that.

    In the "photo" application, you are in the form of a user who has already obtained permission to print, while in the explorer you might be in the form of a user who has not been granted the right to print.

    Even if it is you, in the form of "the administrator of your organization," who distributes these rights to one location and not to another in a different part of the system with an access code.

    In the new PCs, protections are set by default.

    In older systems, no one set them, and the slightest infection, which became very common, would encrypt all your files and you would lose everything.

    Thank you for your response and these clarifications. So there is no longer the possibility to use this solution, if I understand correctly? As a safety measure.

    Oh, and I would like to clarify that it worked with a .txt file from the explorer, not with .jpg images.

    Can the protection depend on the file type?
