Corrupted HP BIOS

Hello everyone, I have an HP laptop that shut down during a BIOS update. Since then, when I turn it on, it says that the BIOS is corrupted and needs recovery from a USB stick.

So far, so good. I downloaded the correct BIOS recovery from the HP website using the laptop's serial number. I created the bootable USB stick as explained on the HP site.

I plugged the USB stick into the HP laptop while holding down the Win + B combo.

And then, the recovery just won’t start. It keeps displaying the corrupted BIOS screen in a loop, with the Shift key blinking (I also tried with the Win + V keys and got the same result).

I tried another version of the BIOS recovery, same issue. I also tried with 2 other USB sticks and on different USB ports, same result.

I admit I'm really out of ideas.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thank you in advance,

Hello

The HP procedure doesn't work every time :-(

1) Turn off the machine.
Make sure to disconnect (if possible) the other drives (SATA, M.2, etc...)

2) Press the Windows+B keys without releasing them, then press and hold the power button as well.

3) Wait for 3 to 4 seconds (the longer the PC stays off) then release the power button, not Windows+B which should remain pressed until the update...

Otherwise, there's no other easy solution, unless you can find a BIOS EPROM for the same machine on the internet (or from a damaged motherboard...) if it's "clipped" onto a socket, nearly impossible if it's soldered.

Or replace the motherboard... Sniff Sniff !!

See you later

Thank you for your response. I will try the operation again but without the integrated M2 to see..

If not, too bad for the PC ????
