Sleep mode with an icon on W11

Solved

Hello

How to create an icon to put my PC to sleep.

I have seen several solutions, such as "Alt+F4", but that doesn't work, it shuts down the PC.

Do you have a solution?

  1. Hello,

    A little reading here... https://www.malekal.com/configurer-veille-windows-11/#Comment_activerdesactiver_la_mise_en_veille_dans_Windows_11

    1. I’ve seen that before.

But I wanted an icon to put it in sleep mode whenever I want.

      "Don’t set up sleep mode."

On my old keyboard, I had a "Sleep" key, which was very handy, but since that keyboard was junk, I took my old keyboard that doesn’t have that key.

So, when I stop using my PC, I have to use:

      1) Windows key
      2) Click on the "Power" icon
      3) Click on sleep.

      Not great.

For which keyboard and on which PC?...

    2. Hello.

Simple sleep mode, I don’t believe it exists. However, hibernate or shutdown, yes, you can create a shortcut on the desktop with the option to change the icon. In case you're interested, right-click on the desktop >>> new >>> shortcut and copy-paste into the location of the item >>>

      rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0

then click on next, enter a shortcut name, hibernate for example. Just right-click on this shortcut and via properties change the icon.

This is just a suggestion of course.

      See you later . . .

      1. The PC is an "hp"

The keyboard where the key was is a keyboard that I have with my "hp" computer.
The keys work randomly or you have to hit them hard.

And the old keyboard is a Lonovo

        1. Hello,

I'm not following you: the solution proposed by yclick and taken up by Jojola guitare works, just to be sure, I just retested it.

      2. Or another solution via keyboard >>> press the Windows key + X, release and then click on D and then V.

To wake from sleep, left click on the mouse. But there is no doubt that clicking on "Start" >>> shut down or disconnect >>> sleep will be as quick as using the keyboard command.

        See you later . . .

        1. Oops!!!! My phone was on silent.

          It's better
Both solutions allow you to put it on standby, but it doesn't come back by pressing a key; you need to turn it back on by pressing the power button.

          1. Yes indeed. Sorry, but there are no new ideas other than those proposed.

For the second solution in < 8 >, you just need to left-click with the mouse and not on the start button.

            See you...

        2. Too bad

Yet this famous sleep key on the white keyboard does have a command, doesn't it?

          Thanks again for everything
