Hello,

I noticed last night that my phone screen is coming off a bit; is it possible that the glue has melted? Is this important?

    Hello

-Yes, regarding the phone's waterproofing, one brand responded that the IPXX standard only applies to a new device, but over time, the components can degrade. So if it comes unglued, it risks water damage.

-It's difficult to reply; shocks are unfortunately part of a phone's life and a common cause of its demise, but the quality of the adhesive and the cleaning of surfaces before application also play a role. However, heat is used for disassembly, so it remains possible.

-There is a risk. What else, besides heat, can cause delamination?

A pressure coming from inside the glass!

And that is well known. The battery can swell as it deteriorates over time, so we could find ourselves facing a lithium battery in poor condition.

    Hello,

    Eloise's response is very comprehensive.

For the glue to have softened enough to cause the screen to detach, there must have been significant overheating.
I don't really believe it: if the overheating came from the battery, you would probably have noticed, and exposure to the sun is probably not sufficient.

I think the most likely cause is battery swelling. This is common with faulty batteries.
There is a significant risk for the smartphone and for your safety.
Either you open it yourself to find out, or you entrust it to a professional.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

      Hi Eloise

      Is it still under warranty?

If yes -> send it back to the customer service

      See you

        Hi

In my humble opinion, Eloise doesn't know anything ... ;-)

        Hi everyone

Of course I don't know anything about it,

But it's still a good piece of advice. :)
