CPL devolo connected but not detected by PC

Hello,

For over a week now, I have moved and the only solution I have for a stable internet connection is to use powerline adapters (CPL). I have a wall-mounted RJ45 socket in my bedroom, but I can't get it to work, and I don't have the technical skills to make it work myself.

I therefore have two Devolo Duo 550+ powerline adapters that I have had for a few years and have already used without any issues. One is plugged in near the Orange fiber internet box and the other near my PC connected via cable. The synchronization of the powerline adapters works perfectly; the LED stays white for a few minutes, but it doesn't last. The LED on the powerline adapter near the box starts flashing red after a few minutes, and the LED on the powerline adapter near my PC simply turns off. I have tried several outlets, different Ethernet cables, formatted the powerline adapters, restarted the box, but nothing works.

On my PC side and with the connection, nothing is detected via Ethernet, and I am connected to the default box Wi-Fi (which is very poor and unstable due to the distance from the box). I still feel that when I use the powerline adapters, the connection is a bit better since I can access YouTube/Netflix/Twitch and even sometimes play online games, but it is absolutely not stable, and I repeat, my PC does not detect any Ethernet connection at all. I know for sure it should be detecting one because I have used an extremely stable Ethernet connection since September, and I have never had any detection problems. All my drivers are up to date.

I don't know what more I can do, nor if my powerline adapters are still functional. I am counting on you.

Thank you in advance for a potential solution.

TL;DR:

I have no choice but to connect to my box via powerline adapters due to the distance between my PC and the box. My powerline adapters synchronize perfectly but turn off by themselves in about ten minutes. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong or if they are simply no longer functional. Thank you in advance for a potential solution.

Hello

You connect a powerline adapter to the socket + box, then you press the reset until the powerline adapter light goes off

You wait for the pairing to be completed; the light should be solid white

You connect the second powerline adapter to its final location and press the reset button for 1 second

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I just did that and nothing has changed. I downloaded the Devolo Cockpit app to check if the powerline adapters were detected and connected. The software detects both adapters and indicates an excellent connection between them. The only remaining issue is that my PC does not detect any ethernet signal from the powerline adapter while the Cockpit software tells me that there is one and that the adapters are working. I have already changed my ethernet cable and updated my drivers. Nothing changes; the PC detects nothing.

I want to clarify that I used this PC all year connected via cable in my old apartment and never had any detection issues.

Thanks in advance.

check in the device manager or network and sharing center if your ethernet network card is properly enabled

cockpit is even more complicated, I only managed to add a powerline adapter to the powerline network then I gave up

Hello,

complicated cockpit?

It's still quite basic from what I saw a few years ago, it's a bit like a mobile app today.

Hello,

we can help you get your wall sockets working if you make the effort to engage with the problem; if you check the wiring forum discussions, there's pretty much everything you need for that.

Have you tried the PC with an Ethernet cable connected to the box?

And there you go...

But goodness, those line breaks are so annoying!!
