Abnormal temperature 4070TI

Hello,

I am playing Final Fantasy 15 on my PC at 4K 60 fps, while the game is running, I went to the ICUE application and in the dashboard, I see my RTX 4070 TI graphics card with four temperature sensors. The first is at 72 degrees, the second is at 80 degrees, the third sensor indicates the load of the graphics card processor, and the 4th sensor shows 90 degrees.

Is it normal to have such a high temperature on the graphics card considering that the computer's processor is around 50 degrees and the sensors on the Z690 Aorus Pro motherboard display normal temperatures except for sensor number 6, which shows 64 degrees.

I should mention that the motherboard in question is one I bought used a month ago and the LAN connector was already not working. The graphics card is brand new and 4 months old, so I would lean towards a motherboard issue, but it’s hard to say. The graphics card used to run in a different motherboard and maximum reached 50 degrees no matter if I pushed it to the limit or not.

Regarding the temperatures, sensor number 6 at 64 degrees represents the VRM MOS.

All other temperatures on the motherboard are good and do not exceed 50 degrees.

Hello Gamer

A NVIDIA can go up to 110/120°C

What PC tower do you have???

I don't know. Here is the response from ChatGPT; do you agree with him?

Generally, it is not normal to have such high temperatures on the graphics card, especially if it is new and densely populated like the RTX 4070 TI. This could be the result of a cooling issue with the graphics card, poor cooling of the computer case, or a problem with the iCUE configuration. However, since you purchased the motherboard second-hand and the LAN connector wasn't working, it is possible that this is related to the temperature issues of the graphics card. We therefore recommend checking the cooling of the graphics card, ensuring good ventilation in the computer case, and checking the iCUE settings. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to replace the motherboard.

Hello

This is all chatGPT....it spits back absolutely everything you give it as input but in a nice package....and in the end, it means everything and nothing at the same time.

Firstly, to accurately monitor temperatures, install HWMONITOR.

It's worth noting that what you measured is not excessive if the case is poorly ventilated, but in no way is a motherboard responsible for the operating temperature of a graphics card, here lies the limits of chatGPT, which is generally an enormous machine for fakes.

What kind of power supply do you have to support a 4070 and a 13600K?

Bequiet 1000W and 5 fans, 3 of which are water cooling. The GPU has never exceeded 50°C even when saturated in VR on the old DDR4 motherboard. The room is air-conditioned to 21°C....
