65 or 55 inch TV?

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a TV, but I'm getting stuck on details that are driving me nuts because I don't know much, so it's tough with all the choices. Basically, I'm deciding between a TCL QLED 55-inch 100Hz or a TCL QLED 65-inch 50Hz. I don't play video games but mainly watch action movies, which is why I'm leaning towards the 55-inch with its 100Hz, but for the same price, I could get the 65-inch, so I'm really torn. I've heard that the bigger the TV, the more there can be blurriness and pixelation or slight lag compared to a smaller one. So, will I really notice a difference between the two whether it's for watching the news or going on Netflix to watch a movie? What do you think? Just for your info, I sit about 2.5/3 meters away from the TV on my couch. Thanks for your answers.

Hello, the price of the TV would give us more insight into the quality of the image, I suppose, not having the references for the televisions, be it for both screens at 50/60Hz native refresh rate. The image refresh rate at 100Hz, previously known as double scan on CRT screens, is an electronic process specific to each brand designed to smooth out the image; it's more of a sales argument.

For the same number of pixels (same definition), a 55-inch screen will theoretically be sharper than a 65-inch one, but at more than 3 meters away from the screen, this is not appreciable by the eye.

The simplest way to convince yourself is to see it in person.

Thank you for your feedback. From what I understood, it would indeed be more interesting to get a 55-inch since the two have the same resolution. As for the models in question, they are not high-end; we are looking at the TCL 55c731 and TCL 65c631. I've been going to stores for several days to compare, but it's hard to see the difference since they are not side by side, and one displays a 4K demo, while the other shows movie clips fed by the store's internet, which is saturated and doesn't necessarily provide great images. I think this is done on purpose to clear certain stock ^^ In any case, your feedback confirms that it might be better to aim for a 55-inch. I've already noted pixel problems with friends who have large TVs, and I would prefer not to have that issue at home.

Hello, you have the advantage of watching TV from a distance compared to the average living rooms, which smoothes out the pixel effects. A 65-inch is not prohibitive in my opinion.
