Hello everyone,

Model of the defective PC:
Asus K751B / CPU: AMD dual core A9 9420

Let me explain my problem:
My partner has a laptop and unfortunately it is really very slow.
After a Windows 10 update last week, it completely crashed on restart and Windows will not launch (the PC keeps restarting in a loop on the Asus logo).
The only thing I can do is access the BIOS and I can't even restart Windows from there.

So I am faced with a dilemma:
- Either I upgrade it by finally switching to an SSD (to gain speed since it currently has an HDD and it was making crazy noises) / I will upgrade to 16 GB of RAM (DDR4) and then reinstall a new non-crashing version of Windows with a USB stick.
- Or my processor is really that bad as well and in that case, I will change the PC (I admit that I am less excited about that ????) but for that, I need real advice from CPU experts.

From what I have seen, my processor is really bad, so I am not expecting miracles ????

For your information: my partner uses it exclusively for doing everyday paperwork, internet research, and occasionally YouTube.

    Hi SPOUPY,
    The HDD is not negligible (2 To is no small matter!) but if it's noisy, it needs to be replaced as soon as possible. I think it's starting to fail and you won't be able to recover the data on it.
    As for the rest, wait for other opinions that will certainly be more relevant, I think.

    As for the CPU, take a look here to see what it’s worth (CCM).
