Hello,

When I want to download software, I prefer not to install it via the Windows Store.

However... when I try to run it, a window opens and forces me to go through the Microsoft Store.

How can I bypass this? I don't have that option right now.

In other words, how can I circumvent the Microsoft Store?

Thank you in advance

Hello fabul

Thank you for your help.

I thought it was the solution, except that... Windows says:

The switch out of S mode is one-way. If you switch, you won't be able to go back to Windows 10 or Windows 11 in S mode. Switching out of S mode is free.

  1. On your PC running Windows 11 in S mode, open Settings > System > Activation. It says: "ACTIVE"

  2. In the Switch to Windows 11 Pro section, It says: already Windows 11 Pro
select Go to Store. This does not appear
(If you also see a section "Upgrade your Windows edition," be careful not to click on the link "Access the Store" that appears.)

This third item does not appear either:

  3. On the Leave S mode page (or a similarly titled page) that displays in the Microsoft Store, select the Download button. Once a confirmation message appears on the page, you will be able to install apps from outside the Microsoft Store.

    For now, I'm stuck.

    Thank you anyway

Hi again, fabul.

I just tried again.

When I want to execute, in this case, Chromesetup,
a window opens and, among other things, tells me "Change my app recommendation settings".

When I click on it, it opens the installed applications window (which can also be found by going through
"settings and applications".
After that, I don't see what else I should do?

Thank you in advance.
