ORANGE Fiber Optic Installation

Hello,
Or rather good evening to everyone. I hope I haven't gone astray and please forgive me if I'm not on the "right" forum.
My questions may seem naïve and reveal my utter incompetence, but I absolutely need your informed responses. I am now an elderly lady, but I manage quite well with my computer.
However, the different means of accessing the Internet sometimes seem obscure to me and far exceed my television skills.
I have a LiveBox Play that works perfectly (ADSL and Orange landline - an old wall socket - to which the LiveBox is connected). My son convinced me that I would greatly benefit from having fiber optics installed, and I admit that I was tempted. I received the LiveBox 5 from Orange with the cables and all the components, which I verified against the list of contents.
Knowing my incompetence, I preferred to entrust a technician with the task of updating and checking the operation of my audiovisual equipment dependent on the fiber that will be installed tomorrow afternoon.
My building is compatible with this installation and most residents have had fiber optics installed in their homes. So I opted for the "expert installation," and the Orange advisors told me that the installation would take place in two phases:
1) the connection of my apartment to the fiber optics
2) the arrival of a second technician for the compliance of the house devices dependent on the fiber
However, surprised (perhaps foolishly) not to have a new decoder and remote control to install, I inquired the day before yesterday with a customer service advisor at Orange.
At first, I thought - perhaps naively - that the current decoder - which works on ADSL - and its remote control were compatible with the LiveBox 5 (Orange fiber), but I asked the question, and the advisor - who was very kind - told me that I would need to change the decoder and the remote control after the technician connects my home to the fiber optics.
So, I asked for the new equipment to be sent to me as soon as I received the first technician from SOGETREL to make the connection.
However, after reading articles on the ORANGE support forum, I found that correspondents believed that the old decoder and remote control (ADSL/LiveBox play) were perfectly compatible with fiber optics and that it was unnecessary to change them, a point confirmed by a neighbor who had fiber optics installed and continues to use her decoder and remote control from her LiveBox operating on ADSL.
So I called Orange again. Another advisor told me that she was considering my request for a new decoder and remote control, which she said were necessary at the beginning of the conversation, while adding towards the end that this old equipment would be compatible with fiber optics.
As this change of decoder and remote control costs €40, which will be added to the €89 of the "expert installation" scheduled for a second time, I find it absurd, if the change of decoder and remote control is unnecessary, to be left without television or computer for a few days while waiting to receive equipment that would therefore be redundant!
The first technician will thus connect my apartment to fiber optics tomorrow.
*Q.1) Will he conduct tests on my television or just make the connection, with interventions on audiovisual devices being reserved for his colleague from the "expert installation" who is supposed to follow him?
*Q.2) Is my current decoder and remote control (LiveBox play/ADSL) compatible with fiber or do I have to change them?
*Q.3) Can I cancel the order for a new decoder and a new remote control if my current equipment is compatible with fiber?
Thank you immensely for your help, as I admit I am a bit (a lot) disoriented...
Best regards

Hello everyone....
Everything is explained very well ► In this link
In my opinion, paying an additional €89 to connect other devices to the box is unnecessary....
Regards
Hello,
I don't understand why the decoder and its remote control need to be changed. They communicate via Wi-Fi or cable with the box. This is independent of how the box receives the signal (ADSL or fiber).
As for the cost of the operation, I'd rather not talk about it!
Just so you know, I was connected to fiber in 2 hours. The technician made the connections and checked that everything was working. I didn't pay a dime and the subscription price remained the same. And it works!
What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Hello
1) You pay for the technician to connect the fiber to your box and check the other connections... he will ask you to turn on the television to "see" if you have the channels.
2) And your current equipment is sufficient (only the new one is smaller and consumes less (they say)).
Obviously (I'm not that naive!), but the answers I received from various advisors were surprisingly contradictory:
The last person I contacted yesterday told me that my decoder and its remote control were compatible with the new box while also recommending that I request a new one (?...), and others (2) said that I would have to wait for the arrival of the new decoder (charged at €40) and the technician's visit for the "expert installation," subject to the receipt of the new decoder and remote control, in order to be able to use my devices, with the first technician who will come today only tasked with pulling a cable and connecting my apartment to the fiber optics.
Enough to be quite disoriented!
Thank you for your responses
Read "proper functioning," "thing that has been confirmed to me," "should I," and "confirmed accuracy"...and surely a few other forgotten typos
Hello,
The first technician will extend the fiber to the apartment, without touching the existing ADSL installation, which will continue to work.
I did not understand why the replacement of the decoder would cause a service interruption of a few days.
Hello to you
Me neither, I don’t understand, but my complete ignorance in this area made me take the two initial statements from the Orange advisors very seriously: they told me that I had to order a new decoder and a new remote control that no longer depended on ADSL, as the latter were incompatible with the connection to fiber optics.
When I asked them if I would normally receive the TV channels in the meantime, they told me no, that I had to wait for Orange to deliver the new decoder and remote control, and for the second technician to come and ensure compliance (the term might be incorrect) with my television, computer, etc.
Yesterday, however, another advisor told me that my old ADSL decoder and its remote control were compatible with fiber, while advising me to order the new decoder. Now, I don't understand anything anymore, except that I'm going to have to pay an additional 40 Euros for the famous “expert installation!”
Misleading information conveyed in good faith by the advisors or an incitement to consume targeting beginners like me? Who knows?
In any case, thank you for your response
