Image switching issue from PC to TV.

Hello. I just bought a TCL UHD 4K Smart TV, model 58P631. Here is my issue. I want to switch the image from my laptop (Acer) to this TV. Using an HDMI cable doesn’t work. I proceed as follows: on the keyboard, I click Windows + P, select "Connect to a wireless display," then click on Smart TV. My TV screen then displays "Waiting for the screen," but nothing happens. I then have to go to settings, then devices, remove Smart TV, go back to "Connect to a wireless display," and then select Smart TV again. My TCL screen asks me to accept, and then I get the image. I don’t understand why I have to go through all this manipulation to achieve my goal. Could a member give me some information or a solution on this subject? Thank you very much.
