Hello,

For the past few days, I haven't been able to download anything on Google Chrome, "antivirus scan failed." I've tried everything: going through regedit, clearing the cache, uninstalling and then reinstalling Chrome, disabling extensions, nothing works.

Do you have any idea how to fix this damn annoying problem?

    Hello,

    Use a USB stick and another PC to download the two "Offline" setup files for the browsers, then there are two methods to reset them at the same time here:

    Hello,

    If you copy/paste chrome://settings/security into the Chrome address bar, then click on No protection => Disable

    what happens?

      Not anymore, yet I believed it. I wonder if it doesn't come straight from my PC.

    Still nothing, even my Firefox isn't working (black screen) and Microsoft Edge won't launch at all. Chrome only has download issues.

    I'm wondering if I should look for a software that would do a thorough check of my PC. Because something is really off here.

    Thank you for your help.

      You can do it from a .reg file (.txt renamed to .reg) (Show file extensions in View > Options) to see the .txt that you rename to .reg

      This is the registry key that needs to be added:

      Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments]
      "ScanWithAntiVirus"=dword:00000001
