How to draw a circle on an image with Photoshop?
SolvedLeGnou -
Hello,
I'm having trouble tracing a circle on an image with Photoshop. The goal is to highlight a spot on a landscape. I would like the circle to be empty and to choose its color and thickness.
How can I do this?

Hello,
- Create a blank layer
- Ellipse selection tool
- Hold down the Shift key to create a perfect circle and drag to achieve the desired size of the circle
- Edit menu --> Stroke
Set the thickness (e.g., 5 px), the color, center, and confirm
The circle is on a separate layer
Thank you very much for this information.
I created a layer, using the Ellipse tool, holding the Shift key and adjusting the size of the circle... all that is fine.
But in Edit, I can't select stroke of selection, it’s grayed out...
Did I miss something?
Did you use the ellipse selection tool (tools at the top of the list press "M" shortcut) and not the ellipse tool press "U" for shortcut
In Trace, I selected Ellipse Shape, then held down Shift to make the circle to the desired size, it seems that it doesn't work afterwards (with the inability to select in Edit)...
It works now!
I didn't know that you could change the selection tool with the M key, your info was clear from the start, it's just that I'm not comfortable with the program, as my username suggests.
I will go to bed a little less ignorant tonight :o)
Thank you very much for your explanations and your patience.
