Message seen time on Messenger

Hello,

When I send a message on Messenger to a contact, for example at 4 AM, and they are not online, I see "seen" at 4 AM even though they connected at 8 AM? This is on my phone; however, on my computer, it correctly shows "seen" at 8 AM?

Thank you for clarifying.

Hello

There are servers that are not at the same time as others because they are not located in the same time zone or country.

Just that can mean that the same message posted at the same moment may not be recorded on 2 different sites at the same time.

So, read by you can multiply the number of different hours by 2 or 4.

Given that some messaging software allows you not to mark a message as read by default unless modified later, you need to pull out a crystal ball to figure it out.

Ahh everything makes sense, my contact is currently in Belgium so my message sent at 4am shows as seen at 4am on my mobile phone and at 8am on my computer... is this therefore normal? Thank you

Hello

I've been experiencing the same issue for several months... I tried with someone in the same room as me and it does the same thing...

The time of message read is wrong and actually corresponds to the time the message was sent and not the time it was read...

I think it's a bug in Messenger, I can't see any other explanation!!

Hello

The global business Messenger said:

Our servers are located in only a handful of countries.

There may therefore be a time zone discrepancy if the timestamp is based on the location of the server.

One could consider it a bug if they offer this hourly service without ensuring a minimum of relative coherence of the information.
