Will a deleted unread message be visible?

I sent a first message to a recipient who appears with the empty bubble indicating that he probably hasn't received it, or at least hasn't seen it.

I sent a second one, and I saw that the delete function was available.

I was wondering, if I delete the message and my correspondent hasn't read it, will it be deleted for him as well, or only for me? Thank you for your response.
