How to fix Wi-Fi 6 detection issues on my PC?

Hello,

I just got Bouygues fiber and my laptop doesn't pick up my Wi-Fi because it's Wi-Fi 6 and my network card is not compatible. Is there an easier way than changing it?

Like using a repeater or a dongle to work around the issue?

Thank you for your responses.

Have a nice day!

Hello,

a "legacy" network card should be able to connect to a Wi-Fi 6 network.

At my place, I'm on Wi-Fi 6 and everything connects, even smart devices limited to 2.4 GHz and Wi-Fi 3, but it's true that some cards are reluctant.

The first thing to try is to configure the box with different SSID names on the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks, for example tristan2 and tristan5, and see which network works best.

If that’s not enough, you can disable Wi-Fi 6 and limit it to Wi-Fi 5 (ac) or even Wi-Fi 4 (n) on the box.

If it still doesn’t work, the best option is to invest in an independent mesh Wi-Fi network and disable the Wi-Fi on the box.

And there you go, there it is...

But goodness, those line spaces are such a pain !!
