When asking this kind of question, the minimum is to specify which printer it is.

I assume it's an Epson; this often comes from a cable that is making poor contact or an object blocking the scanner. This requires disassembling the printer, so if you're not comfortable doing that, take it to an authorized Epson repair shop.
