How to color a row in a Word table?

Hello,

I want to color certain rows in a table.

I read that I should click on table styles in the table, but I can't find "table styles" on my toolbar.
What should I do?

Hello,

Whenever I (at least in Office 2019) insert a table, the design menu offers me table style options, where I can notably change the color of the bands by choosing one of the default styles by clicking on one of the different table styles displayed, or by displaying others using the small arrow on the right before Fill Color.

If I miss the boat, I will achieve the same result once the table is inserted by clicking on the multidirectional arrow to the left of the table and choosing table styles.

In any case, I will obtain the color I have chosen alternating in intensity every other band; if I want to customize further, I’m free to choose table style-modify table style-format and select borders, fill, bands that suit me.

If the table is not endless and I want to color every other row, I might find it quicker to select one row, right-click, fill color, choose a color, do the same with the second one and a different color, then copy into the following concerned rows (obviously before the table is filled).

My problem is that I don't see a "table creation" menu. I probably don't have Office 2019.

Sorry, but I'm a bit of a novice in managing my software.

I'll manage without it.

And which version of Office do you have, standalone, online (365) on Windows, Mac?

I am on Windows 10. I asked my grandson, who is a computer expert, if I should download Office 19.

What do you think?

Several download sites are being suggested. Which one should I choose? At what price?

You didn't say which version of Office you are currently using; it seems to me from memory that standalone versions, even older ones, allow for table enhancements, which may not be the case for certain limited Office 365 versions, and that's why I asked the question.

Generally speaking, online licenses for Office 2019 only come with the key; in some cases, it can only be used on one PC (not transferable to another) and not reusable if we need to uninstall Office or format the same PC.

In my opinion, the cheaper the better on a site like Cdiscount; in the worst case, if a €1 license doesn't work and the seller doesn't want to refund it, we will have only spent a second euro with another seller.

You can independently download an Office 2019 img file for example here (at the bottom, Images from Microsoft, Office 2019 Professional Plus, French):

To install this img file, you copy it wherever you want on your disk (for example, the desktop), right-click on it, Open with, Windows Explorer, then click on setup.exe in the list of files.
