Equalizing FLAC Files

Hello,

I want to create compilations from several CDs.

But the volumes are not the same across the CDs.

I rip in FLAC before burning a new compilation CD.

Does anyone know a good free and effective software to equalize FLAC files, please?

    Hello,

    I think it's called Normalizing in the Digital Audio jargon.

    But I believe you can't do it with a FLAC, otherwise it wouldn't be a FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec)

    I use Xrecode III (Very good and not very expensive).

    It can apply dynamic compression to MP3s, I don't know if that equates to normalizing, nor where to find the normalize function among the settings of Xrecode if it does it well for certain types of files, I don’t know it by heart.
