[Ubuntu] Connexion bas débit !

Bonjour,

Alors voila ma petite histoire :

Ayant un ras-le-bol de Windoz Vista très prononcé après de très nombreux plantages et une réactivité très insatisfaisante par rapport a la configuration de mon portable j'ai choisi d'installer une distribution de Linux sur celui-ci ! :)
Après une recherche approfondie mon attention c'est tournée vers la distribution Ubuntu et son environnement Gnome (Ayant testé KDE auparavant mais n'ayant pas spécialement apprécié) !
Le système est très stable ( sûrement grâce a son noyau UNIX que j'apprécie d'ailleurs beaucoup et que j'utilise depuis longtemps avec Mac OS X) et me paraît très puissant, cependant il y a un problème que je n'arrive pas a résoudre...

En effet, habitant dans une "contrée" très reculée, je n'ai pas l'accès a l'internet haut débit et utilise donc le modem bas débit intégré a mon ordinateur. Et c'est la que le problème se pose puisque je n'arrive pas a l'utiliser...
J'ai fait beaucoup de recherches mais la plupart me renvoient vers des sites Anglophones et, même si j'arrive a me débrouiller avec la langue de Shakespeare, les termes propres a l'informatique et plus particulièrement a linux me posent des problèmes !
J'ai tout de même réussi a avancer un petit peu... je suis en effet arrivé jusque a la génération du fichier "ModemData" que je vais d'ailleur vous montrer ! Apres c'est le flou total, je n'ai aucune idée de quel driver choisir et comment l'installer...
J'ai cru comprendre cependant quelques lignes qui m'intriguent comme, par exemple, le fait que ma connexion sera limitée a 14 Kbps... et que ce problème peut être résolu en achetant les drivers (20 € tout de même).

The hsfmodem package serves a great variety of Conexant chipset modems.

However some compilations and executable functions may need additional files,
in the FileNames.h (so called kernel "h"eaders) collection installed in /usr/include/ .
For martian_modem, additional required packages are libc6-dev (and for Debian/Ubuntu, linux-libc-dev). The also required headers of package libc6 are commonly installed by default.



If a driver compilation files with message including some lack of some FileName.h (stdio.h for example.
Some additional kernel-header files need installation to /usr/include.
For Debian/Ubuntu related distributions, run the following command to display the needed package list:
$ sudo apt-get -s install linux-kernel-devel
While some of the files may be on the install CD, others may have to be found through https://packages.ubuntu.com/

For Ubuntu Feisty, additional packages required were:
libc6-dev linux-libc-dev
available through https://packages.ubuntu.com/ , if not on the install CD.
Such packages may have different names for other Linux distributions.
Try installing just the libc6-dev, then test the compile again.
