POWER DVD 14 no longer plays my Blu-rays.

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 7706 2-in-1 and I am running Windows 10.

I purchased a PIONEER - BDR-XD07TB DVD/Blu-Ray drive on Amazon in February 2022.

https://www.amazon.fr/Pioneer-BDR-XD07TB-Slim-USB-Graveur/dp/B081GJ3NX8

It came with CyberLink_Media_Suite_Downloader and Power DVD 14 software.
This drive only works if these software are installed while it is connected to the PC. When it is connected, it works.

However, for the past week, Power DVD 14 no longer recognizes the presence of Blu-Rays; it recognizes DVDs, but it considers the drive empty when a Blu-Ray is inserted. It spins, then nothing is recognized. This seems to be the case with other Blu-Ray playback software as well.
I completely uninstalled Cyberlink and Power DVD 14, then reinstalled them as I originally did, with the drive connected and entering the activation key. I did this 4 or 5 times, but it hasn’t changed anything.

I am facing the same problem: Power DVD 14 recognizes DVDs immediately, but it struggles for a long time with a Blu-Ray and ultimately arrives at this page that opens:

https://i.ibb.co/q5CSFMD/Probl-me-lecture-Blu-Ray.png

"Files ready to be burned to the disk (1): desktop"

If you double-click on desktop, it shows: "[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21815 "

I don't understand this. The Blu-Rays were playing fine, and now I have this which I don't even see the connection to.

To see if the problem was with the drive or the computer, I installed the software on my other computer (which is running Windows 7), and there is no problem; the Blu-Rays are played with the PIONEER - BDR-XD07TB.

So the problem is not the drive but the software since it is recognized on my other computer.
Well, not the software, because even with another (Leawo Blu-ray Player), the computer considers that there is no disk inserted when it is a Blu-Ray apparently, or at least does not recognize its specifications.

So I assume it's something that's not configured correctly on my Inspiron, but what?

It worked perfectly before, then it seriously started to struggle to be recognized with Power DVD 14, and now nothing... This strange page that opens: "Files ready to be burned to the disk (1): desktop"

Can anyone help me please?

Thank you in advance...

    Hello,

    Try reading them with another program, like VLC, or the video file directly with MPC-HC from K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.

    Hello.

    Try to read your Blu-Rays with VLC (free).

    I have never managed to install VLC so that it can play Blu-Rays.

    Right now I have this:

    " Your input media cannot be opened:

    VLC cannot open ‘bluray:///C:/Program%20Files%20%28x86%29/VideoLAN/VLC/’. Check the log messages for more details."

    In any case, the Blu-ray does not seem to be recognized by the computer anymore, as with Leawo Blu-ray Player I have no Blu-Ray recognized in the drive.

    So I would prefer to know what to correct in the system.

    Why do I have this:

    "Files ready to be burned to the disk (1): desktop"

    Then this when double-clicking on the displayed desktop:

    " [.ShellClassInfo]
    LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21815 "

      Hello,

      Regarding the last point, it is not about household products, but rather a desktop.ini file (which we would better understand its role by asking the system to display file extensions, and this is always a good precaution), and its role is to customize the display of the folder in which it is located and the contents that you display.

      Everything happens as if the source folder of the copy (which I do not know) contained nothing else but the file in question, and therefore was empty.
