Accents on "small capitals"

How to put accents on letters in small caps with the following font: Times New Roman 9? I'm using Office 365.
1) I tried writing the name in lowercase letters with accents, then did Ctrl + Shift + K, it doesn't work: the lowercase letters become uppercase but the accents disappear.
2) I typed the accented letter in uppercase then reduced it to "small caps" using the < key; but this is not accepted by the editor who uses another software: the accented letters reappear as uppercase, thus misaligned with the rest of the name which is in small caps.
3) Does anyone have another solution?
