Hello everyone, this is about the assignments in high schools. My little sister, who is in 9th grade, made her choices on her own without consulting my parents. She was accepted to her first choice, however, this high school is 2 hours away from our home, and my parents do not agree to send her that far (she also no longer wants to go there). We have not received any responses to her other choices, which are also very far from home. Therefore, we would like to request that she be assigned to her local high school. The problem is that she did not express a wish for this school. So I am asking you, what procedures should we follow to request an assignment at her local high school? I apologize for the length of the message.

Hello,
The forum "High-tech studies/training" as its name indicates, is primarily intended to answer questions related to training in high technology, computer science... in short, "higher education" and not more general questions about schooling...
The best option would probably be to inquire at the rectorate.... nonetheless, I will leave the topic open, in case it inspires someone in a useful way.....

Hello,
The question is anyway far too vague to be answered correctly.
To provide more information, the 9th-grade student is not of legal age, and the validation of Affelnet wishes is not done separately by the student or their parents but is transmitted by the college itself after consulting these parties: it is therefore in principle materially impossible for the student to have completed these steps on their own.
The zoning only pertains to the general path and not to or from private institutions, and does not guarantee the allocation as a right, under the title of sector high school, to any particular establishment in this sector if there are several.
However, once the allocation has been made, it is no longer relevant to know whether or not a wish was expressed regarding this sector high school: one can (subject to the previous paragraph) only exercise an amicable appeal to the DASEN at the relevant academy's rectorate.
