Hello,
I saved a file created with LibreOffice Writer yesterday.
Today, this file appears to be corrupted with the following error message:
"The file 'xxx.odt' is corrupted and cannot be opened. LibreOffice can try to repair the file.
Corruption may result from document manipulation or deterioration of the document's structure due to data transmission."
I click Yes to attempt to recover the file, and I get:
"Unable to open the file 'xxx.odt': it could not be repaired."
I have not found an effective program to repair the file.
I tried shunesburg69's technique from this link: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-33491656-fichier-corrompu-odt but at step 5, I cannot find the <office:automatic-styles> and </office:automatic-styles> tags.
I updated LibreOffice today (version 7.2), but it did not resolve anything.
Do you have a solution to recover and repair this file?
Thank you.

The retrieved document refuses to open. I finally managed to do it, I copied its content and pasted it into a new blank document.
You can use it.
I'm deleting the link.

OK to work on a copy of your document in .odt format.
Use ODF Repar.
Can you attach the document to your next message?

Remember to make backups.
Since LibreOffice and MS Office are not clones, to avoid issues, I urge you in the future to follow the advice for using Writer / Word: https://forum.openoffice.org/fr/forum/viewtopic.php?p=98728#p98728
Is your document significantly reduced?

I am following the tutorial tutorial_reparation_ODF_106 but I don't quite understand.
The corrupted file tester indicates: The zip structure of this ODF document is damaged.
I follow the steps on page 2 of the tutorial, I made a copy of the file, renamed the extension to .zip, and I process this file with Ziprepar.
I list the files, it indicates that the chances of recovery for all of them are good.
I save the repaired .zip.
The tutorial states "The repair of the archive will tell you which XML file is corrupted."
I do not understand this part, nothing was indicated by Ziprepar, it simply saved a copy of the repaired .zip.
The same goes for Zip2fix: "10 of 10 files were found OK"
I feel like the "repaired" .zip files are just simple copies of the "corrupted" .zip.

By activating the Analyze, Extract, and Repair options of ODF Repar in turn, I obtain 3 documents:
_rels
docProps
word
and a file [Content_Types].xml
I am attaching a copy of my .odt file: https://cjoint.com/c/LFrquemzxI7
Thank you

ODF Repair returns a non-functional document.
Perhaps we need to dive into the xml, which I am unable to do as I am not equipped for it.
Was your document not created or processed by MS Office Word?
The repaired structure does not resemble that of a pure ODF document as shown below.
and this is indeed what you get:

Everything was managed using LibreOffice but indeed I started by opening a .docx file (which had already been created using LibreOffice), I copied text from another .odt file onto it and then I saved this file by "overwriting" another .odt file.
Maybe that’s why the structure looks more like MS Office Word.
