Hello,
I would like to know the difference between a PCI Express 4.0 16x (4x) on an NZXT N5 Z690 and a PCI Express 4.0 16x on a Gigabyte B660M DS3H AX DDR4; what does the (4x) mean exactly, thank you for your answers.

The PCI Express 4.0 16x (4x) information means that out of the 16 lines of the PCI-Express 16X port, only 4 lines are wired or can function.

Thank you for your response. It seems to me that the 2.5 Gb Ethernet is present on both, which leads me to believe that for a simple configuration (one graphics card and two M.2 drives), the Gigabyte is almost on par with the Asus. But to conclude the matter, can you confirm that the Gigabyte's PCI Express 4.0 16x will perform similarly with an RTX 3060 as the Asus's PCI Express 4.0 16x (4x)?

This PCI(x4) thing! I thought you understood after all those explanations. First of all, you must not confuse PCIe 4.0 and PCIe (X4 or 4X, for the French speakers). The former indicates the generation of the PCIe bus (4th generation here). The latter indicates the number of wired lanes or those that work regardless of the generation of PCIe. All motherboards have at least one main PCIe port wired with 16 lanes where you connect the GPU so that it operates at full capacity.  The major difference in this area is that the first one is equipped with a main PCIe of the 4th generation while the second one is equipped with a 5th generation PCIe. For current GPUs, you won't see any differences between the two. The other difference between them is that the second one has a chipset that allows CPU overclocking, whereas the first one only permits RAM overclocking. But since the CPU you are targeting is not overclockable, that won't matter. At least for now.  -- Misnaming things is adding to the world's misery (Albert Camus)
