Do you happen to have a MacBook Pro with a "francized to the devil" US keyboard? To find out which key combination gives you the at symbol, the simplest way is to look in the "Keyboard Viewer," which appears via the "Input" menu (the little flag on the right side of the menu bar):
If necessary, you can activate it in the "Keyboard" section of the System Preferences panel, under the "Keyboard" tab (see the details on this page if needed)...

Yes, classic case of a US machine poorly converted to French where the keyboard is not fully functional since there’s not the same number of keys. Some compromises have been made. Not everything is in its place because the system "sees" a US keyboard as hardware, not a French one (you can compare it with the one *_Francis_* showed earlier)... Generally, the original "tinkerer" equips the Mac with a modified software keyboard, but during a reinstallation, you end up with a janky setup.
That said, with the keyboard viewer you can find out how to get the at symbol (when the viewer is activated, press the "Option" key and maybe also the "Shift" key, you'll see which combination to use - for the at symbol, it's Option £, if I remember correctly). Also, you can possibly create a custom keyboard with Ukelele.
