Hello,
I have an HP laptop with an exotic keyboard. Azerty, notifications in English, keys with 3 symbols.
I'm trying to type the asterisk that is on a key with 3 symbols plus a number.
I have tried several combinations control alt, shift, caps lock without success, there is no right alt key.
Thank you for the help.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 98.0

Hello
Everything that is "silk-screened" in the 3rd position can be accessed with the AltGr key, which is the combination of Alt+Ctrl.
So without the AltGr key, use Alt+Ctrl + the desired key.
Cheers

If the answer helped you, a little click on the thumbs up is great... If resolved, that's perfect.
Let he who has never opened a user manual throw the first mouse at me ;-)-
Hello
Thank you, the combination of alt+ctrl pressed simultaneously works to replace alt gr
alt+ctrl allows access to the right symbols
shift allows access to the top symbols
I therefore propose the 3 simultaneous keys alt+ctrl+shift for the symbol at the top right
the asterisk * is also obtained by the code alt+042 typed on the numeric keypad via the keyboard shortcuts table except on ccm which transforms it into a large dot when I validate it unless I have done a preview.- by the normal asterisk key on my keyboard if I don’t do a preview the same

my keyboard may not be as exotic as Pollux's

Hello
Thank you for the reply.
I tried Alt+Control and other combinations, but I only get 2 symbols, not the 3rd one, the asterisk.
Have a good day.-
Hello
Of course, you are holding down Alt and Ctrl without releasing them, right?
Without information about your "exotic" keyboard, this is going to be complicated.
A photo of the person in charge would be desirable.
You can also check with Keyboard Tester if you find the right sequence.
See you!

Hello
The asterisk is silkscreened above and to the left of the number 8 on your keyboard
Shift + 8 should give you *
Note: the asterisk is also on the numeric keypad above the 9, you should reach it by direct pressing.
Where was this "exotic" keyboard bought? In Madagascar?
Depending on the chosen language, there might be surprises regarding the character that appears
It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.

Hello;
Thank you for the help.
Shift 8 gives 8. I take the asterisk from the numeric keypad.
Keyboard bought in Madagascar, certainly imported from India.
Windows notification in English.
Have a nice day. -
India? I don't think so. (Given the English past, they must certainly be in QWERTY).
Shift 8 gives 8 OK
What does this 8 give
in lowercase
Right Alt + 8
Right Alt + Ctrl + 8
Right Alt + Shift + 8
Ctrl + Shift + 8
Right Alt + Shift + Ctrl + 8
Fn + 8
Also see other combinations with Fn shift alt and Ctrl
Does the manual for this PC say anything about keyboard usage?
