No HDMI signal on my Asus VE248 screen

Hello everyone,

I currently have 3 laptops, of which 2 are running Windows 10 (Asus i7 17-inch and HP Spectre i3 13-inch tablet) with HDMI output, I have the message: no HDMI signal on a blue background on my Asus VE248 wall screen, in the Windows settings the screen is not detected?
With the latest Asus i5 15-inch laptop and the same HDMI cable running Windows 7, I can project onto this screen via HDMI without any particular issues????
(I have tested both of my Windows 10 laptops on a 120cm Samsung television via HDMI and it works well!!!)
In 2016, Papounet17000 wrote on this forum a solution for Shorock who had a similar issue.... unplugging the screen electrically for several minutes but that doesn't work for me?

    "With the latest Asus i5 15-inch PC and the same HDMI cable under Windows 7": If I understand correctly, only the one under W7 works on your wall screen?

    Hi Txiki,

    The problem is complex, but you've understood correctly, only the old PC running Windows 7 works with HDMI on my remote wall screen...

    Here’s the detailed history

    I've had the error message for about 15 days on my 24-inch Asus VE248 remote wall screen. One evening, suddenly when I turned it on (the day before everything was working well and it had been for over 2 years on Windows 10 with the HP Spectre x2!!!)

    When I press Win + P to display on my wall screen from my HP Spectre x2 running Windows 10, I get the message "no HDMI signal on a blue background" ... at first I thought it was the HDMI port on the tablet dock that was faulty because when I tested with another HDMI cable, I had the same message "no HDMI signal on a blue background."

    And when I tested with my old 11-year-old PC, an Asus x5mj 15-inch i5 with a GT415M graphics card (2GB RAM) running Windows 7, miracle, the Windows + P works fine, the display on the wall screen is perfect at 1920x1080 at 50Hz in GTF mode (sharper text reading), no more error message, so I think it’s indeed the HDMI port on the tablet dock that is faulty... except that...

    Since the i5 PC is a bit sluggish with the mechanical hard drive being overloaded, and the fans make a lot of noise from the beginning in high performance mode... For more comfort, I pull out another PC from the drawer, an Asus i7 with a GT540M card (4GB RAM), I install a new SSD and Windows 10 OEM with an official key, and there during Windows + P I again get the same error message "no HDMI signal on a blue background" on my remote screen...

    (For the 2 PCs running Windows 10, the remote screen is not detected in the settings panels; when I choose number 2, I get the message no other screen detected)

    I tell myself it’s not possible to have 2 faulty HDMI ports on 2 different PCs, so I test both PCs running Windows 10 on a Samsung TV and everything works fine during the Windows + P on the TV, the display is immediate and perfect???

    For your information, on all 3 machines, the Windows and Nvidia driver updates are all up to date, they are indeed the latest versions (I reinstalled the drivers several times), and there are no issues in the device managers, no anomalies...

    ▸ This means (and proves) that your wall screen is not the issue! 

    I'm thinking it's not possible to have 2 faulty HDMI ports on 2 different PCs, so I tested both of my PCs running Windows 10 on a Samsung TV and everything works fine when using Windows P on the TV, the display is direct and perfect???

    ▸ Here too, the HDMI ports are working! OK!

    So, there's a setting to adjust on your wall screen.
    You mentioned in your first question:
    "in the Windows settings the screen is not detected?": I think it's rather your wall screen that is causing the issue.

    Another thing: is this the first time you've connected these 2 PCs to this wall screen?
    You might have specific HDMI ports on your wall screen?

    I can't tell you more except to read the manual of this wall screen carefully and also check the settings of Windows 10 (which I am not familiar with), I'm on Seven (Windows 7! yes!)...
