Image of my computer screen moving on its own

Hello,

For a year and a half, I bought a 15' HP laptop and for some time now, the image sometimes moves on its own. The image "vibrates" and the resolution is much worse; this can happen when I'm on Google Docs, the internet, or OneNote, for example. I don't have any other devices nearby except for my phone and another laptop that's on standby. At first, I thought it was because my phone was nearby, but sometimes I use it as a hotspot to play on my laptop and I have no issues.

Hi Forza,
It's a physical problem in your case. It's not the nearby devices that are causing this.
It comes from the flexible connection of your screen to the motherboard. Most likely due to the opening and closing of the laptop over time... When a laptop is low-end or not, for that matter.

"for some time now I've sometimes had the image moving on its own. The image 'vibrates' ": confirms exactly what I described above.
You have no choice but to have it checked by an honest repairer (who isn't trying to sell you another one).
Sorry for the bad news... but that's how it is.
Good luck!

Alright, thank you very much. I'm surprised because it's the first time this has happened to me. Could this be due to a shock during transportation?
Because I am a student and I carry it in a backpack with a compartment designed for that purpose.

Hi Forza,
"Could this be due to a shock during transport?": Maybe, but I rather think it's about unfolding/refolding (opening/closing) the laptop.
But an image flickering could be due to overheating of a component, instability of your OS (Windows or other)...

I believe that the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard of the laptop is no longer "locked" in its connector(s).
Watch explanation video. Watch the video all the way to get an idea of the type of flexible connection (very fragile) of the various components in your laptop.

In your case, it's not about "replacing" this ribbon cable but checking whether it is properly secured in its connector. It’s not simple, I know!
Good luck!

Okay, thank you very much, I watched the video and indeed it's a bit complex for me. I will call in a professional.

Hi Forza,
I sometimes have the image moving by itself. The image 'vibrates'”: Have you tried to “Repair” Windows?
It could also be an instability with the graphics processor.
Although the issue with the ribbon seems the most likely, we shouldn't overlook other causes either!
Best regards!
