Hello everyone.
I've been having an annoying problem with my PC for several weeks now. It's important to note that my PC generally works well when I use it for basic tasks (like browsing the internet). The problem arises when I launch a game that requires a bit more. For instance, games that are less demanding, like Minecraft or League of Legends, don't cause me any issues. In contrast, when I launch Rocket League, Fortnite or other similar games, the anomaly occurs.
So when launching these games, my PC shuts down, but I can still hear the sound. I have to restart my PC every time to be able to use it again. I just hear a small "zzt" at the moment the PC shuts down.
My Windows Update is up to date, and the drivers for my graphics card are as well. I really need help because the PC is new and I bought it mainly for its ability to run demanding games.
Thank you for your responses and advice.

Hello,
This little "zzt" sound makes me think of a spark noise, a bad electrical contact, or frequencies from a transformer...
Possibilities...
your screen does not match the game's frequency, you need to carefully read the game's requirements... and the display's limitations.
The power supply is not powerful enough..? We don't know what type of hardware we are dealing with..?? and the OS..?
The graphics card cannot handle everything..??? -
I'm sorry for my lack of precision.
For your information:
My graphics card is an RTX 2060 Super
My processor is an i5 10400.
I am on Windows 10.
This problem appeared a few weeks ago, whereas I had never experienced this issue before. -

The day before being sick, you are healthy. That was your case before the breakdown.
Why are you giving these cards...??... especially the motherboard matters, the power of your power supply, the screen you are using Brand and model..
The game's frequency, you need to read the game's requirements carefully... and the display's limits. Make sure to adjust these values correctly. -
I'm trying to provide as much information as possible to solve the problem, but I'm not the best with computers.
Regarding my motherboard:
As for my power supply: It's a CoolMaster with a maximum of 750W.
For my screen, it's a Samsung 144Hz, the model is: C24RG50FQU -

Your 750W power supply should be sufficient, although the graphics card already consumes 550 watts on its own, so we can question... There are only 200W left for the rest of the PC... The processor also consumes power plus accessories, you must be very close to the power ceiling...
And your monitor is quite a beast too; it's a 144Hz unless your game runs at 240Hz, those are the things you need to check... You need to make sure that your display is properly driven by the graphics card... Go to the NVIDIA control panel and adjust the settings...
The resolution is 7680x4320, which is much higher than that of the processor
whereas your screen is 1,920 x 1,080
I think you need to match the settings of your graphics card with those of your monitor... so 1,920 x 1,080 for both.
I'm afraid the card is exceeding the display limits of your monitor, and that's what causes it to go black.
There might also be a setting in the games for image/screen dimension...
And the noise, it's the screen that makes that noise... I even suppose it's dangerous for it.
Beyond all these points, your BIOS may need to be updated...? That won’t solve your display problem... -
The games I play do not require 240Hz.
As for the settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel, I'm not really sure if everything is properly configured. I do feel like I'm using the right resolution. I can't understand how to fix this problem. What also puzzles me is why this bug didn't occur before. Furthermore, I recently reset my PC to avoid any issues.
Regarding the BIOS, how can I update it? -

I cannot check the NVIDIA control panel for you... you need to go in there... Check if it is indeed managing your display and not the integration of your processor (i.e., Windows) and that the dimensions of your image are as I mentioned above.
You should not "feel" it... You need to have certainty... with your settings and numbers in hand.
We cannot reason based on what was working well before... Time has passed... It's not the same now... Something has changed since then... for one or more reasons, not necessarily intended, but triggered by other things...
What do you mean by resetting your PC?? Did you reload Windows?? and all the settings were canceled.
For the BIOS upgrade, you first need to know what version you have..?? Then check the manufacturer's website for the current version to see if an update is necessary..
If so, you need to download the BIOS file from the manufacturer's website, read the instructions for the procedure... and start the update from the BIOS menus... Given your described actions in your text, it's better if you don't touch that for now.. -
Alright, I'll make sure everything is properly set up.
By the way, small update, I tried changing the screen and I'm still having the same problem even though this one requires much less than my 144hz, so I suppose the issue is with the graphics card...
Moreover, my graphics card is still on when there's the "crash" so I'm a bit lost.
My PC reset was a reinitialization after which I reinstalled all the drivers and software. But I had this problem before; I just tried that to fix the issue.
However, regarding my BIOS, I feel like I have a motherboard that really leaves something to be desired so it seems difficult to find possible updates. -

Here is what should be your motherboard manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06592761.pdf
Your PC must have a different reference than 8704 (the motherboard) or OMEN 25-L for example..??
Did you assemble it yourself or is it a pre-built purchase..?? -
Indeed, it looks like that, so can I update the BIOS using the manual?
As for my PC, yes, it's in that range, but I don't know how to find the exact reference.
It's a pre-built purchase :/ so I don't know how to solve this issue other than changing components. -

OK....OMEN 25L desktop GT11 Here is the site where the BIOS files are located.... But there is another complication... There are several BIOS versions depending on the machine, and they have different numbers
https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/drivers/selfservice/omen-desktop-pc-25l-gt11-0000a/33492315
for example, here ROM SSID 8703 There is also 8704, 87C3, etc... so you need to know this number..??? I believe it corresponds to the motherboard number so here, 8704
And also what is your version of Windows 10..?? 20H2 or later..

You could install CPU-Z on your PC https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/6615-cpu-z/
You run this utility on your PC and it will display several "Tabs"... Go to Mainboard ===>BIOS and it will give you the manufacturer, version, and date of your BIOS, hoping it shows everything.. the goal is to see if your version needs to be updated...?
It will also give you the model of your motherboard...etc..etc...
I think this is the file https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/omen-desktop-pc-25l-gt11-0000a/33492315/swItemId/cp-278308-1 -
I did the operation with CPU-Z and here is the page you wanted to see:
From what I read, it seems to be what you thought, so should I download the one you suggested? -
jeannets Posted messages 28397 Registration date Status Contributor Last intervention Ambassadeur 6 603
Yes, you can still download it, it doesn't hurt.. I see that it's indeed the version..
Yours is dated August 27 while the link provides version F20 Rev A from September 5, 2021, so it is more recent and probably corrects an error from the August 27 version... because the dates are very close...
It also improves system compatibility.
That said, I don't know if it will fix your display issue..?? -
Well, I updated my BIOS.
The problem is that I'm still having this "crash" issue. So we will need to find another solution to fix it because it's starting to become bothersome. -
jeannets Posted messages 28397 Registration date Status Contributor Last intervention Ambassadeur 6 603
I understand that it's bothering you... but after all, it's just a game. If you find a solution elsewhere, I won't be jealous... and it will be good for you...
After this operation, we move on, saying that updating the BIOS doesn't change anything, which is the positive side.
I advise you to check this site, input the key points of your PC accurately, to see if it can handle this game.

Because I always find it works with Windows 7 and never with Windows 10... I wonder if this game is compatible with Windows 10.
For the RTX-2060 super graphics card, I also saw that there's a wide variety of these cards..
https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/ekjgu4/best_configuration_rtx_2060_noob_difficulties/
Another possibility is to remove the RTX-2060 graphics card and use the one integrated into the I5 processor...
It’s also possible that your screen is the weak link in the chain...

Without launching Rocket League... (in Windows)
access the configuration file with the aim of setting it to the minimum, to be able to start and adjust it later..

The problem is that this issue occurs with most games...
I will try to follow your advice.
