Extreme slowness External SSD USB 3.0 2TB

Hello,
I just received a 2TB SSD external hard drive USB 3.0, 3600rpm.
When I started backing up audio files (~8GB) from my PC, the speed fluctuated around 1-4 MB/s, which already seemed slow for an SSD, but I didn’t pay much attention to it.
I added another backup (photos, ~10GB) to optimize backup time. However, since then, with these two actions running, it's progressing incredibly slowly as follows: it painfully climbs to 500 KB/s, even 1 MB/s for 3-4 seconds, then drops down to... 0 KB/s for about ten seconds. So far, after 3 hours, it’s still at 39% for the audio and 25% for the photos. At this rate, it's going to take 6 months...
What is going on exactly??!!
Can someone explain to me if it's due to running two actions at once or if there's something else to do?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Best regards.

Hello,

The description is inconsistent: SSD USB 3.0 of 2 TB, 3600rpm

a SSD should not have a rotational speed of rpm = revolutions per minute, so, SSD or mechanical disk???

This Chinese-made SSD has no apparent brand.

While researching to find it, I found this reference that seems to match my HDD (and indeed has 3600rpm) on the following link from AliExpress:

For your information, after about 7 hours of backups, it's only at 67% for the first action and 37% for the second...

Given the format, this is not a mechanical disk, but the specifications are nonsense.

And if we read the comments:

The USB key looks good. It actually tests as a 2TB drive. But, looks can be deceiving. It’s slow! Benchmark tests with HD Tune show an average transfer rate of 19.1 MB/s. A Crucial SSD, in comparison, had an average transfer rate of 226.7 MB/s. That's 12 times faster! Tests with real file transfers were even worse. A 3.3GB file took nearly 8 minutes to transfer at around 7 MB/s on the USB key. The transfer with the Crucial SSD took only 20 seconds at around 165 MB/s. That’s almost 24 times faster! On a positive note, the Crucial SSD cost a lot more money, so I think I got my money's worth with the USB key. ;-)

Conclusion, you get what you pay for.

Hi,

It's a FAKE, you'll never get a 2TB SSD at that price.

I don't know exactly what's inside, but you got tricked.

Create a log to see by right-clicking in the ChipGenius window > Ok > Paste (here)

https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/ChipGenius.shtml

If you want the latest version download it here, but your antivirus may detect it (wrongly)

It would be better to buy a recognized brand.

After the ChipGenius log, we just need to format it and test it with H2testw

Then present us a log.
