Hello, is it possible to connect a PCI Express 4.0 SSD to a PCI Express 3.0 motherboard even if it limits the speed, or will the SSD not work at all?

Hello,  If the motherboard supports all NVMe drives, it will just be limited to the speed of 3.0.

M.2 NVMe SSDs use a PCIe bus. It can be of the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation. It will always be compatible. It's just the maximum throughput that might not be reached.
