Hello,
My elderly mother has purchased a Hitachi TV whose USB port is not working. Besides TV programs, what she enjoys most are the photos my sister and I put on external hard drives. However, the TV shows "no files found" even though the hard drives work perfectly on our computers and on MY TV. I am desperately trying to find a male HDMI to female USB cable. Does anyone have any ideas? Do you know if you can insert an SD card into this TV? I have contacted Hitachi customer service a hundred times, but each time I'm told to reset the TV and the port works for 5 or 6 hours before failing again. I requested assistance, but customer service refused, and now the warranty is expired. It's not easy when you live 1000 kilometers away and only see each other during vacations.
Thank you for your help!

Configuration: Windows / Edge 97.0.1072.55

    Hello!
Thank you very much for replying. Unfortunately, that does not solve my problem at all, which was to convert a USB port (from the hard drive) since the input on the Hitachi TV does not work in HDMI so that my mother can view the photos from the hard drive.
Have a great day and thanks again!

      Hello,
I think that the proposed solution of adding an external TNT decoder that connects to an HDMI port lies in the fact that these decoders generally have a USB input... and therefore could compensate for the failure of the USB port of the television.

      Hello,
I'm trying in vain to find a male HDMI to female USB cable.

In your request, everything suggests that the HDMI works...!

For the first suggestion, if the TV in question has a SCART socket, the solution with the HD TNT adapter will also work.

It’s explained in the video that the HD TNT adapter can be connected either with a SCART cable or with an HDMI cable to the TV, your choice...

Otherwise, for photos, there is also a digital photo frame (an inexpensive example here...):

I don't really understand, is it the USB port of the TV that is faulty or the HDMI port?

So the solution of a HD DVB-T adapter connected via HDMI remains valid

The USB port on the Hitachi TV is dead.

In this case, the workaround remains valid as I explained in my first response.

We still need to be sure that the problem is indeed the USB port and not the formatting of the disk used or the format of the saved photos.
It must be formatted in FAT32 and have a capacity of less than 1TB.

    Hello!
I'm sorry for the delay in replying. As I said, I live in the north of Paris and my mother is in the south of France! Anyway, I’m here, I tried the TNT decoder trick and unfortunately it doesn't work.
I will now try to check the formatting of the hard drive.
Or resort to an SD card where I could transfer the photos that are so dear to my mother...
Thank you again immensely for helping me.
