Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my computer: the jack ports (both rear and front) no longer recognize my speakers...
I do have audio through my GPU and monitors (HDMI and DISPLAY cables).
I reinstalled Windows because I installed and uninstalled drivers here and there (I think I wasn't very clean in the operations and Windows was getting heavier to open). Anyway, despite reinstalling the operating system (Windows 10), the audio jacks on the motherboard still don't work.
I have checked in my BIOS: "HD Audio Azalia Controller" is Enabled.
But once in Windows, I can't switch to the jacks...
I'm a bit lost... in my initial approach I installed/uninstalled several versions of the Realtek codecs/drivers... without success. I must be missing something... but I can't find it, which is why I'm seeking help from you ;)
Thanks already!
Here is my configuration for your information ;)
AMD RYZEN 5 3600 35 MO 3.6GHZ 6 CORES TRAY
MSI GFORCE GTX 1660 SUPER VENTUS XS OC 6GB GDDR6
16GB DDR4 UDIMM 3200 MHZ 1.2V (1X16gb)
ASUS PRIME B450-PLUS ATX Socket AM4 AMD B450
Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64-bit

It's normal. If you have audio with the GPU, you can't get it through the sound card. You need to configure it so that you have audio through the Speakers (jack). As a result, you won't have audio on the GPU anymore.

Hello Epango,
It's surprising; until recently, I had the option, by clicking on the small speaker icon in the taskbar, to choose between screen 1, screen 2, or the front speaker, or even the rear one :-s
Now I can't. Only the option to switch to screen 1 or screen 2 is available.
That being said, where can I force the audio to come out of the speaker (jack)?

To reactivate the sound on the speakers, here’s the procedure:
Right-click on the speaker icon. Click on Sound and click on Playback. In the window that opens, look for the CG audio which should be checked. Right-click on it, then click on Disable. After that, look for Speakers. If it’s not checked, right-click on it and click on Set as Default Device. Normally, you should get the sound back on your speakers.

It's surprising that nothing is checked. Go back to the window. Right-click on the empty space, then click on Show Disabled Devices, then Show Disconnected Devices.

Hello epango,
I only have the "NVIDIA High Definition Audio"... in my devices, under Audio, video and game controllers. Even when I display hidden devices.
For your information, I have currently removed all Realtek drivers/codecs I found in the programs (apps and features).
I don't even know which ALC to take... (https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/advanced-search/74?Itemid=276)
Thanks for your follow-up ;) Have a nice day,

Here is the codec model of your motherboard: CODEC Realtek® ALC887-VD2 8-channel high definition audio. However, since it is no longer detected, I believe you will have trouble installing its drivers. Try starting by updating the motherboard chipset drivers:
https://www.asus.com/fr/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-B450-PLUS/HelpDesk_Download/
With a bit of luck, your sound card may reappear.

Good evening!
I have successfully installed all the drivers after reinstalling Windows... I will try the ALC887-VD2 ;)

Hello!
The warranty worked... and apparently it was the processor that got damaged :?:
Upon reflection, I indeed had asked the customer service to replace the CPU cooler because it was too noisy and the problem appeared shortly after (at least, that's when I noticed it).
What a waste of time :( sorry and thank you for your help! ;)
