Hello everyone,
This is my very first post on the site, as I usually don't need to ask questions because I often find answers to my problems. But here "Help please" (I'm exaggerating) :p
I hope I'm in the right section, I've already read different issues similar to mine that were often resolved. After a few hours of searching for a solution in already resolved problems, I couldn't solve mine. I'm counting on your help to clarify my problem and, if possible, to resolve it (As I say, every problem has a solution, if there is no solution, then there is no problem)
My Problem:
Following a boot of my operating system from Win.7 to Win.10 and a complete formatting of all my hard drives before installing my system. (The installation went smoothly) But I no longer have an internet connection.
First problem:
No internet connections detected while connected with an internet cable, when I try to resolve the issue via Windows it tells me "A network cable is not plugged in properly or is damaged"
whereas the same cable plugged into my laptop works correctly.
The same goes for the wifi network card, the network from my box is detected but I can't connect to it. The Windows message "Wifi" does not have a valid IP configuration (#'~,@:/?)
I came to inquire on the forums to find a solution. I ended up downloading the drivers for my 2 network cards and installing them, but nothing changed.
So I went to device management to check if they were present; they are, but surprise!!! The second problem.
Second problem:
I realize that in the other devices section there are 3 yellow diamonds, which means I have a problem.
- SM Bus Controller
- PCI Simple Communications Controller
- Unknown Device
I try to update the drivers via Windows, but it can't find them. I return to the forums to find a solution, and I arrive at the conclusion that some drivers for my motherboard are not installed. I continue my search to find them, but I'm stuck because after downloading a file from the manufacturer Asus (the brand of my motherboard) I cannot install the file in question.
Could it be that my first problem is related to the second problem? If so, how can I find compatible drivers for my PC?
My hardware:
Motherboard: Asus H97-PLUS BIOS 2504
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4160 CPU @ 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM: 12 GB
Operating system 64 bits
Network card: Realtek 8185 Extensible 802.11b/g Wireless Device/
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
I took the time to detail everything so that those who may have solutions to my problem can respond quickly. While waiting for a response, I will continue to search for a solution.
Thank you in advance.

Good evening,
Perhaps try installing this chipset, Intel_Chipset_Win10_V10_0_27.zip.
Regards.

I have installed the small software, good news the driver for the "SM bus controller" device has been installed.
But I still have an issue with the "CPI controller device"
And still no internet even though my network cards are properly installed and detected by Windows.
